The accused have been identified as Lalit Kumar of Rajesh Nagar, his brothers Matty and Babbal, and his relatives Sapna, Geeta, Sukhi, Poonam, Bani, Gattu, Vijay Sabharwal, Beant Kaur and Guddi.

It is the second such incident in three days as on Saturday, a similar incident was reported outside the district courts when family members of a woman had attacked her husband after they got married against their wish.

A case in the Monday case was registered following the statement of Naresh Kumar of Rajesh Nagar, who is an employee of homeguard department.

In his complaint, Naresh said his son Ajay Kumar, 25, had solemnised love marriage with Visakha of the same colony in February against the will of both the families.

He added that they later approved their relationship, but Visakha’s parents did not and kept on threatening them. Afraid of the threats, they left their house and started living somewhere else in a rented accommodation.

On Monday, Naresh along with his wife Geeta Kalyan went to their old house to get some clothes. The accused, who were following them, turned up there and thrashed them with sticks and bricks. They did not let them enter their house. They fled from the spot after a crowd gathered there, hearing the screams.
