An anti-encroachment drive took place at Feroze Gandhi Market on Monday in which whip was cracked against the carts that were allowed by the contractor of the parking lot.
The contractor allows the carts serving food and other articles in the market, which results in traffic snarls in the area.
A team of Tehbazari, under superintendent of zone D Jasdev Sekhon, reached the spot and removed the carts and encroachments in the area. He also warned the staff of the contractor that carts should not be allowed in the area.
The team later reached old court and removed two eateries that had encroached upon the government land. “We used JCB machines to remove temporary eateries in the area,” said Sekhon.
