Intensifying their agitation against revised toll rates at Makdoli toll plaza on Rohtak-Panipat highway, the activists of Toll Hatao Sangharsh Samiti (THSS) has decided to call a state-level meeting on May 4 to gather support from all quarters.

Samiti president Virender Singh Hooda and general secretary Ashok Dixit said that a meeting in this regard was convened at Chottu Ram park in which it was unanimously decided that a statewide meeting should be called to decide the course of action on excluding residents living in 25-km radius from toll tax.

Virender Hooda told mediapersons that some persons close to the chief minister during their dharna at Sanghi village, had assured them that their demands would be met after polls. He said that instead of giving any relief, the toll tax was increased by 6%.

It may be noted that a row is going on between functionaries of Sadbhav toll plaza (Makdoli) and members of THSS in which latter is demanding relaxation in toll tax to residents living within a radius of 25km, while the former has been adamant on its stand of charging toll from everybody.

The toll tax at the barrier was increased by 6% on the intervening night of April 12 and 13 citing it as per the norms of the National Highway Authority of India.
