Balwant Singh Rajoana, who has been convicted for the assassination of former chief minister Beant Singh, was on Tuesday presented in the court of additional civil judge (senior division) Deepika in a case under the Arms Act.
As Rajoana had refused to appear through Internet-based conferencing, the police brought him for personal appearance in the court. This is the last case, dating back to 1999, pending against Rajoana, who has also been sentenced to 10 years in a case under the Explosives Act by a Patiala court.
During hearing, the court recorded the statement of the prosecution agency, which produced evidence of recovery of arms from Rajoana, who is facing death sentence for the murder of Beant Singh.
The court has fixed July 9 as the next date of hearing in the case.
