Candidates continued to throng the Baru College ground in Hamirpur for recruitments in the Indian army on the second day on Wednesday.
However, only 440 out of 3,700 persons, who appeared for the ground test could qualify for the final round. A total of 708 others were rejected for want of documents or less height, according to Col BS Mathur, recruitment officer at Hamirpur.
He said the people of Hamirpur district evinced great response for joining the army. However, for want of fitness, only 9% of the total could qualify for the final test.
Col Mathur said that the medical fitness test of all qualified candidates would be held on December 10 and 11.
Meanwhile, candidates from Bilaspur district would appear for the ground test on Thursday.
