Preparations are in full swing for the mass open army recruitment rally to be held from December 3 to 11 in the grounds of Polytechnic College of Hamirpur at Baru village.
Thousands of youth drawn from various parts of the state are expected for the rally, according to deputy commissioner Ashish Singhmar here on Wednesday.
Presiding over a meeting of the district officers, he directed the officers of the departments of transport, power supply, water supply and health to ensure that adequate facilities were provided to the people visiting the town during the rally.
Col SB Mathur, director of recruitment, said recruitment of youngsters in various disciplines of the army would be held during the rally.
Residents of Chandigarh and Haryana would also take part in the rally.
He said those intended to join the army must be born in between December 3, 1992, to June 2, 1996.
The deputy commissioner also visited the Baru ground along with the officers of various departments and those of the Indian army and found ground to be suitable for the recruitment process.
