An army recruitment rally for the post of soldiers, soldier clerks, soldier technical and soldier tradesmen would be organised in Bathinda from July 4 to 12.

An army recruitment rally for the post of soldiers, soldier clerks, soldier technical and soldier tradesmen would be organised in Bathinda from July 4 to 12.


Major Uday Partap, executive director, recruitment, Ferozepur, in a release said that it would be an open rally for candidates hailing from Ferozepur, Muktsar, Bathinda, Fazilka and Faridkot districts.

For the posts of soldier clerk and soldier technical, and nursing assistant, candidates from all districts of Punjab are also eligible.

For recruitment of soldier (general duty), a candidate should not be less than 17-and-a-half years and not more than 21 years, should be at least 170 cm in height (166 cm for candidates from Kandi area) and should weigh at least 50 kg. The candidate should have passed the Class 10 exam with 45% marks with minimum 33% marks in each subject.

For the post of soldier (clerk)/store keeper technical category, the candidate should not be less than 17-and-a-half years and not more than 23 years, should be at least 170 cm in height (162 cm for candidates from Kandi area) and should have passed the Class 10 exam with 40% marks. The candidate should have basic computer knowledge.

For the post of soldier (technical), the candidate should not be less than 17-and-a-half years and not more than 23 years, should be at least 170 cm in height and weigh more than 50 kg. The candidate should have passed Class 12 with English, mathematics, physics and chemistry as subjects.

For the post of soldier (NA), the candidate should not be less than 17-and-a-half years and not more than 23 years, should be at least 170 cm in height and weigh more than 50 kg. The candidate should have passed Class 12 with in medical stream with 50% marks.

Tokenn will be issued to candidates from Ferozepur and Fazilka districts for all categories on June 4, for Bhatinda districts on July 5 and for Faridkot and Muktsar districts on July 6.

The release said that except for Faridkot, Muktsar, Bathinda, Fazilka and Ferozepur, for soldier clerk, soldier technical and soldier (NA), all the candidates of Punjab would be given tokens on July 7.

The interested candidates should bring along 20 passport sized photographs and Sikh candidates are to bring 20 photographs with turban and 20 photographs without turban apart from original and attested copies of testimonials issued by the Punjab School Education Board and permanent resident certified issued by tehsiladar and SDM, caste certificate, religion certificate attested by tehsildar and SDM.

For Sikh candidates, there should be special mention of word Sikh in the certificate, character certificate issued by school or college or issued by sarpanch, MC or police and it should not be more than six months' old.

Candidates below the 21 years of age at the time of screening should be unmarried.
