Artisans of national repute are showcasing their creations at the crafts mela, which began on Tuesday as part of the Gita Jayanti celebrations at Barahmasarovar here. The governor of Haryana, Jagannath Pahadia, would formally inaugurate the Kurukshetra Utsav on Wednesday.
The masters of traditional-devotional bhajans Agnihottri Bandhus and Sufi maestro Mamta Joshi would perform on December 11 and 12 under the umbrella of North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala. In addition to this, the dances and the songs of India series would be presented by 250 artistes from Orissa, Uttrakhand, Madhya Pardesh, Gujrat, Manipur, Assam, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Punjab and Haryana.
The deputy commissioner, Nikhil Gajraj, said that all the adequate arrangements have been made for the welfare of the visitors. A full-fledged media centre and information centre have been established by the information & public relations department to disseminate the information regarding the Utsav.
