A variety of cultural performances by artistes drawn from various parts of India on Sunday left the audience spellbound at Manu Rangshala on concluding day of the winter carnival here on Sunday.
On the occasion, tableaus of local 'mahila mandals' depicting local folk traditions and culture were also taken out.
As many as 22 girls contested for 'Winter Queen' title - a special craze at the carnival.
The cultural events on Friday commenced with 'Shahnai Vadan' by Suraj Mani and 'Ganesh Vandana' by Punjabi Sabhyacharak, Nabha.
Besides, in talent show competition, artistes from Punjabi Sabhyacharak; 3 D, Sunder Nagar; Government Ayurvedic College, Paprola; Gurukul, Jammu; VJ Telent Freaks; and Trigart, Mandi, participated.
In folk dance competition, Punjabi Sabhyacharak and VJ Talent Freak stole the show by presenting thrilling bhangra. Artistes from Mili juli, Assam, presented Beehu folk dance while M3, Manali, presented Kullavi folk dance.
Meanwhile, artistes from Sri Lanka enthralled the audience by presenting a unique 'Pathini' dance, dedicated to Goddess Pathini, and 'Pathuru' dance.
Besides, in the guest item, artistes of the language, art and culture department performed 'Shimla Naati', a folk dance form, whereas artistes of the North Zone Culture Centre (NZCC) presented Haryanvi 'Faag Nritya'.
Besides folk dance performances, fashion show, classical dance, modern dance etc were also performed during the carnival.
The results of Winter Queen contest were yet to come out.
