Panchkula residents saw ash littered from 1:00 pm on Wednesday.

The burnt ash was due to a fire in the forest area near Dera Bassi and Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory (TBRL) in Barwala.

Panchkula station fire officer RD Bhardawaj said, “There were two incidents of fire reported. One was on the border of Panchkula -Zirkarpur and another was in Barwala.”

In both instances, it was a forest fire in the Panchkula-Zirakpur border and close to TBRL in Barwala.

Resident of Panchkula, Sector 16, Sameer Sethi said, “ I was about to take my car to go to work and saw ash dropping from the sky everywhere. I haven’t seen anything like this before.”
