ASI shoots self in Samrala police station

An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Amarjit Singh posted at Samrala police station ended his life by shooting self in the head with his service revolver on Sunday morning inside the police station.

An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Amarjit Singh, posted at Samrala police station, ended his life by shooting self in the head with his service revolver on Sunday morning inside the police station.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where the doctors declared him brought dead.

He was under mental stress for a past few days.

After the incident, senior official from Khanna district police station reached the spot and initiated investigation.

His colleagues said he came to the police station and went into a room without talking to anyone. After sometime, they heard a gunshot. When they reached the toom, they found Amarjit lying in a pool of blood, after which they informed the senior officials and rushed him to hospital.
