Ahead of the crucial director general-level talks between the Border Security Force (BSF) and Pakistan Rangers in New Delhi from September 9, both the border guarding forces formally exchanged the agenda for the high-profile meeting at the Attari-Wagah joint check post on Tuesday.

Though the details of the agenda were kept under wraps, it is learnt that various border issues, frequent ceasefire violations by the Pakistan Rangers along the Line of Control (LoC) and the recent Gurdaspur terror attack were on the list. Also, the BSF is likely to take up in detail the infiltration bids along the (LoC) and the International Border.

The BSF has already prepared a list of infiltration bids and sources claimed that an 11-point agenda was handed over to the Pakistan Rangers at the joint check post on Tuesday.

The meeting between the two border forces has assumed importance after the national security adviser-level talks between the two nations were called off recently.

BSF IG, Punjab Frontier, Anil Palliwal told HT: “I cannot share details, but the agenda includes all important issues pertaining to border management between the two guarding forces.”
