Aunt among six arrested for kidnapping 6-month-old boy

The police claimed to have solved the kidnapping of a 6-month-old boy with the arrest of his aunt (father’s sister) and her five accomplices late on Friday 8 days after the kidnapping. The police claimed that the woman had kidnapped the infant to take revenge from her brother Rajneesh Singh and sister-in-law Rajwant Kaur, who did not help her in solving her matrimonial problems.

The police ar rested all the five accused from Haridwar and recovered the child from their possession.
The child has been handed over to his parents.

Giving details about the incident, deputy commissioner of police ( DCP) Harsh Bansal said, Priya, the key accused in the case, came in contact with Radha, a divorcee, who was allegedly having a relationship with Jagpal Singh of EWS Colony, Tajpur Road. The couple wanted to adopt a child.

Radha had hatched a conspiracy and instigated Priya to kidnap her nephew and hand him over to them.
They involved Radha sister Geeta, and two others, Nipun Saini of Prem Nagar, Gurdaspur, and Roop Lal of Bhattha Colony of Gurdaspur.

On May 18, Priya came to Punjab Mata Nagar to meet Rajwant Kaur at the house of latter’s sister. As Rajwant had gone to kitchen to fetch tea for her, Priya kidnapped her 6-month-old son Ishan and fled with Nipun Saini, who was waiting outside the house on a motorcycle.

The DCP said the accused fl ed to Gurdaspur and from there they took the child to Chandigarh and t he n to Haridwar. The police tracked them down and arrested them from Haridwar.
