A 25-year-old B.Ed student was allegedly kidnapped from outside her college and then raped at Banga town of Nawanshahr district.

The victim was referred to the Nawanshahr civil hospital from Mukandpur hospital. She is reportedly in a serious condition and is yet to give her statement to police.

The police said she was not fit for recording her statement which will be taken on Wednesday morning.

The victim’s father told mediapersons that besides pursuing B.Ed from a local college in Nawanshahr, his daughter is also getting training at a Banga college.

On Monday, when she was coming out of the college, a youth from the same village took her to an abandoned place in Morawali village and raped her, he alleged.

The Morawali sarpanch informed the police and took the girl to the Mukandpur government hospital where doctors referred her to the Nawanshahr civil hospital.

Banga city station house officer (SHO) Raj Kapoor said the girl’s statement would be recorded on Wednesday.
