Baby show marks end of MC's flower show

The two-day flower show at Nehru Rose Garden concluded here on Sunday. Besides, the flower show, painting show, baby show, dhol and rangoli competitions were main attractions of the second day.

The main attraction of the concluding day was the baby show in which children of age 0-5 years participated. A total of 1,144 entries came for the various events during the two-day festival.

Hundreds of the visitors enjoyed the day and appreciated the initiative taken by the municipal corporation.

In painting competition, Anaya, Bhavsya, Suvidhi Jain, Rena Agarwal, Mehar Kaur, Aswika, Vishal Kumar, Mohak, Nikhil Chaudhary, Akshay Kumar and Keerat Singh were declared winners in different categories.

In category of park management committees (PMCs), PMC of Neeli Mohar Park of BRS Nagar, PMC Housing Board, PMC Ashok Vatika Park, Jamalpur, Environment Park Development Committee Sarabha Nagar and Friends Welfare Society were winners.

In the category of MC's parks, Leisure valley and Mini Rose Garden got first and second prize, respectively.

Additional commissioner Ghanshyam Thori informed that 86 entries came for baby show.

As per MC, Samay Jindal, Anushi Kapoor, Garisha Narang, Sargundeep Kaur, Dalisa Sharma, Ismeet Kaur, Ayan Gupta, Ranvir, Gurbani Kaur and Mitali Arora became winners of different categories of the baby show.

Dr RS Sibia from Oswal Cancer Hospital said, “We examined growth and also checked vaccination schedule of the babies. The hygiene level of babies was also checked during the baby show.”

In Rangoli competitions, rangolis that were prepared by Brahama Kumaris and a city resident Anchal got appreciation.

Besides, a competition of cut flowers was also organised. Mayor Harchran Singh Gohalwaria distributed the awards to the winners.
