Badal, BJP top brass witness Modi's oath ceremony

BJP leaders LK Advani, Nitin Gadkari, Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj along with Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa witnessed the swearing-in ceremony of Gujarat chief mininster Narendra Modi on Wednesday.

Modi took the oath as state chief minister for the fourth time.

Heavy security arrangements were made at the Sardar Patel Stadium where he was sworn in as chief minister at a grand function at around 11:50 AM.

Following the third consecutive victory in the assembly polls, Modi was elected as the leader of the BJP legislature party on Tuesday.

The party's central observer Arun Jaitley presided over the meeting of the newly elected members of the saffron party at the state capital Gandhinagar.

Modi had taken oath as chief minister for the first time in 2001 and then in 2002 and 2007.
