Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal on Thursday fell ill during his ‘sangat darshan’ programme at Fatehgarh Churian, following which he had to leave the event midway for Chandigarh. In a statement, CM’s adviser on national affairs Harcharan Bains said Badal was running mild fever.
The CM returned to Chandigarh and has been advised rest for the next couple of days, he said.
Doctors who examined him at his residence attributed the fever to exertion. All his engagements, including ‘sangat darshans’, have been cancelled for the next two days. The fresh schedule for his programmes will be announced later,” Bains added.
