An identity card purportedly bearing the stamp of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency was recovered from an abandoned bag in the cantonment area on Wednesday morning.
The I-card was in the name of one S Singh, designated as an ‘informer’. The bag also contained a teddy bear, about 250 grams of some powder, two small tubes and a small battery.
“The suspicious bag was noticed by an army man in the morning when he was going to drop his children to school. He opened it and informed his seniors,” a source said.
A special army squad from Ferozepur reportedly took the bag in its possession.
Besides army officials, the local police also reached the spot soon after getting information.
Army officials refused to comment on the matter.
“The army is investigating the case from all angles,” the police officials said.
