The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Tuesday said the failure of the Punjab Congress to corner the SAD was giving sleepless nights to state Congress chief Partap Singh Bajwa, who was now “behaving like a frustrated leader.”

“Bajwa is now hopping mad as the Congress’ plan to misuse the so called Sarbat Khalsa against the moderate Sikh leadership has been exposed,” said Anandpur Sahib MP Prem Singh Chandumajra.

The Akali MP claimed Bajwa had tried every trick to defame the SAD and weaken Sikh institutions by establishing common ground with people with a separatist agenda.

“Bajwa now finds himself in the company of Simranjit Singh Mann and other separatist leaders and this is the reason why he is losing his mind,” alleged Chandumajra.

He said things would become even more crystal clear on November 23 when SAD’s Sadbhawna rallies would kick off. “Contrary to your day dreams, thousands and thousands of people will congregate at our rally in Bathinda to express solidarity with Sikh institutions, including the SAD. We can understand this is giving you sleepless nights,” said Chandumajra.
