Bathinda Police arrests three of robbers’ gang

Police arrested three members of a gang of robbers who had allegedly snatched a car from the sarpanch of Phoola village at gunpoint on July 5.

The accused are Kulwinder Singh, Sukhdeep Singh and Paramdeep Singh Singh of Phoola village.

Superintendent of police (operations) Gurmeet Singh said the accussed had also stolen Rs 10,000 from Hardeep Singh of Dialpura village and Rs 5,000 from Harbans Singh of Phoola.

“All the accused are drug addicts and several cases of carjacking and snatching are already registered against them, said the SP.

The police have recovered the Innova car that belongs to sarpanch Jaspal Singh. They also recovered sharp weapons from their possession.

The SP said three other members of the gang -Gurwinder Singh, Deepa Singh and Jaspreet Singh - are on the run.
