Bathinda: PRTC bus conductor held for raping minor Class-12 student

The police have arrested a conductor of the PRTC for allegedly raping a minor student of Class-12 in a school at Bhucho Mandi near here.

The police have arrested a conductor of the PRTC for allegedly raping a minor student of Class-12 in a school at Bhucho Mandi near here.

The accused has been identified as Gurjinder Singh, 27, a resident of Rati Khera village in Sangrur district A case under sections 376, 354 and 506 of the IPC has been registered against him.

The victim girl used to travel in the PRTC bus daily from her village Poohli to Bhucho Mandi.

"As I was a regular traveller in the bus, the conductor started harassing me in the bus. He also came to our house with a proposal of marrying me, but the same was rejected by my parents. On May 7, he came to my school while I was standing outside and forcibly took me to a secluded place on a motorcycle and raped me," she complained. The victim's medical examination has confirmed rape.
