Bathinda: Two teenagers found dead in truck

Two teenagers were found dead under suspicious circumstances in a truck (PB 043 V 9015) parked near Bhucho Mandi on the Bathinda-Rampura Phul road near here on Thursday morning.

The victims have been identified as Kuldip Singh, 18, a resident of Dhanaula in Sangrur district, who used to live at his mother's parental home at Bhucho and his friend Satpal Singh, 17, also a resident of Bhucho Mandi. Kuldip worked as a cleaner in the same truck bearing registration number PB 043 V 9015.

In-charge, Bhucho Mandi police station, Bhupinder Singh, said families of both the victims did not suspect any foul play behind the incident.

"The police haven't found anything suspicious from near the bodies or in the truck. There were also no signs of eatables, poison or liquor on the spot which could help in going ahead with the case. One of the two is suspected to have vomited as there were some traces of vomiting inside the truck," he said.

Sources in the police said as the case seemed to be of death due to drug overdose, the police administration preferred to remain silent on the reason of death.

DSP, Bhucho, Gurmit Singh Kingra, said that the cause of death would be clear only after postmortem of the bodies and it wouldn't be appropriate to say anything till then. He said that the police would go ahead with the case on the basis of postmortem report only.
