Five computers, a television and a DVD player were stolen from Government High School, Behbal Kalan, on Tuesday night.

The electronics items were lying in the computer lab. Teacher Inderjeet Singh said, "The thieves entered the school premises, broke open the office and took the keys of the computer lab. We had put four locks at the lab," claimed Inderjeet.

"It is the fourth incident of theft in the school. Earlier, five stitching machines, two gas cylinders and four computers were stolen, said another teacher. The post of the watchman in the school had been lying vacant since 2008 and this was the reason behind the repeated thefts, he added. "We have submitted a written complaint to the police," said headmaster Amarjeet Singh. "We want that the post of the watchman be filled soon," he added. Bajakhana SHO Amarjeet Singh Kular was not available for comment.
