Jasraj Singh Longia aks Jassi Jasraj, a singer who is Aam Aadmi Party candidate from Bathinda Lok Sabha constituency, is yet to have a covering candidate even as April 9 is the last date for filing of nomination papers.

Moreover, party leader Arvind Kejriwal might give a miss to the constituency during his three-day Punjab visit starting April 11.

Jasraj is facing a tough competition from chief minister’s daughter-in-law and SAD candidate Harsimrat Kaur Badal and Congress-PPP nominee Manpreet Singh Badal.

Worried over rumours being spread against him, Jasraj told the media, “Rumours are being spread against me. I will file nomination papers by Wednesday. My candidature has not been cancelled and no case has been registered against me.”

He said, “I have no idea that who will be my covering candidate and the party leaders will decide about it.” AAP state convener Sumel Singh Sidhu said due to paucity of time, Bathinda is not on Kejriwal’s itinerary.
