Abducted 13-year-old girl rescue

The district police have rescued the 13-year-old girl, who was allegedly abducted by eight people including three women, from Chak Singhpura under Dharamkot subdivision in this district on August 5. The main accused Bachittar Singh has also been arrested from Dharamkot bus stand.

Police officials said that the minor girl was brought to the Dr Mathura Dass civil hospital here, where a panel of senior doctors conducted a medical examination of the victim on Saturday evening.

Investigation officer (IO) Jaipal Singh of the Dharamkot police station said that the victim’s father had logged a complaint with the senior superintendent of police that Bachittar Singh of the same village had kidnapped this daughter with the help of his family members allegedly on the pretext of marriage.

The police had registered a case against Bachittar Singh, Paramjit Singh, Jaswinder Kaur, Buta Singh, Lehmber Singh, Amarjit Kaur, Sher Singh and grandmother of the accused Bachittar Singh, all residents of Chak Singhpura.
