Baba Farid to hold world student fes

VIBGYOR-13, a two-day international student festival, will begin on Wednesday at the Baba Farid Group of Institutions (BFGI) here.

Teams from Japan, Korea, Australia, Russia, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Czech Republic, and South Africa will participate in the festival's technical, cultural, educational, and entertainment events.

"Students from the country's leading colleges such as the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) are also invited," GS Dhaliwal, managing director of the Baba Farid group told the media here on Monday.

Cabinet minister Surjit Kumar Jyani will inaugurate the festival. Major general Vikas Joshi, chief of staff at 10 Corps, Bathinda, will preside over the opening function.

Chief minister Prakash Singh Badal will give away the prizes on Thursday. Sufi singer Satinder Sartaj, Voice of Punjab fame artiste Pardeep Sra, and comedian Raghbeer Balli will entertain the audience. Popular radio jockey SP will anchor the show.

Mansa deputy commissioner Thind fumes over X-ray that wasn’t

In a major embarrassment for the district health department, a team of the Civil Hospital here assured the DC, Pravin Kumar Thind, that he had no fracture — on the basis of an X-ray that wasn’t even taken.
