Badal declines comment on Bhagat Singh book row

Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal on Tuesday declined to comment on the opposition by Bhagat Singh's kin to the scheduled release of a book on the martyr by BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

He was here to inaugurate the 55th Panjab University zonal youth and heritage festival at Guru Gobind Singh College.

When repeatedly asked to comment on the controversy, Badal claimed that he was not aware of the issue.

The BJP is the alliance partner of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) in the Punjab government.
