Couple arrested with stolen gold

Mansa police has arrested a couple for stealing the gold of their old house owners where the accused couple had resided on rent and after developing good relations with owners and becoming know-how about the house, the accused gave shape to their theft.

Baddri Parkash of Mansa city had lodged a complaint with the police on November 28 about theft of their 160 gm of gold from house.

It remained a hard task for the police as the owners hadn't registered got registration of the couple rented earlier. The couple accused Arshdeep and Sonia belonged to Barnala and were working as a labourer and domestic help respectively.

SSP Mansa Bhupinder Singh said, "The couple had met on November 28 to the complainant and his wife and then wrongly mentioned them about their new rental house. A case under section 380 of Indian Penal Code against accused couple Arshdeep and Sonia has been registered. The couple belonged to Barnala but had concealed the truth from the complainant while the same they had a plan for their new owners where they were now residing. The gold weighing 160 gm has been recovered from the accused and further investigation is on."
