Within days of over 90 kids being rescued from a shelter home in Haryana, police have registered a case against a school warden here for allegedly molesting a mentally-challenged minor girl.

Warden Sukhchain Singh of a Red Cross society-run school was arrested on Sunday on the complaint of the school staff, police said on Monday adding that the deputy commissioner has ordered a probe into the matter.

Medical examination of the 17-year-old girl, who hails from Tarn Taran district, is being conducted. She was staying at the school for the past three months, police said.

As many as 80 mentally-challenged children, including girls, are currently undergoing education in three such schools run by the society in the district.

The incident comes close on the heels of the shelter-home case in Rohtak district of Haryana, where 94 children, mostly girls, were rescued from shelter homes run by an NGO after facing charges of sexual abuse by some of the inmates.
