Man arrested with 5 kg opium in Punjab

A man was arrested and 5kg of opium worth Rs. 5 lakh in the international market was recovered from his possession, on Thursday, police said.


Accused identified as Bhagwan Singh, resident of Mehmda village of Ratia in Haryana, was nabbed during routine checking at Talwandi Bhangerian village here.

After seeing police, he first tried to flee but was overpowered by cops, SSP Moga Kamaljit Singh Dhillon said.
