Daulia, close aide of state leader of opposition Sunil Jakhar, who is also legislator of Abohar, was untraced since on February 21. On Thursday, some children playing at Patel Nagar locality in Abohar spotted the body, while looking for their ball.

The police body extracted the body and identified the victim from the wrist watch and clothes on the remains. Daulia's son, Gautam, stated that his father's body had carried signs of assault and he had been murdered under a conspiracy.

The autopsy was done at Guru Gobind Singh Medical College and Hospital in Faridkot. Later, Congressmen tried to engineer a shutdown at the local market. Superintendent of police Varinder Singh Brar inspected the crime scene.

Sunil Jakhar remembered Daulia as true soldier of the party and demanded an impartial investigation into his death. The SP confirmed that the police had registered a case.
