Moga mishap: Trainee IAS officer booked

A trainee IAS officer has been booked on the charges of rash and negligent driving in connection with a road accident last week, in which one of his colleagues was killed and three others injured, the police said on Tuesday.

A case has been registered against trainee IAS officer Ajit Kumar, who was also injured in the accident that took place near Dala village on Moga-Barnala highway.

According to the statement given by driver Raj Kumar on Monday, the car was being driven by Ajit at a speed of about 120 kmph when the accident took place on November 6.

A batch of four trainee IAS officers was on its way from Jalandhar to Takhtpura village in Nihalsinghwala subdivision of Moga district for rural training when the mishap occurred. Nishant Kumar (26), hailing from Bihar, had lost his life in the road crash.
