Onion price-hike benefiting Cong sympathizers: Harsimrat

Terming the visit of Congress chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to Muzaffarnangar a political stunt, Bathinda MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Tuesday criticised the Central government for price rise. She alleged that onion price-hike was benefitting people who fund the Congress party.


Harsimrat visited Khair Kalan, Karandi, Raj Rana, Sangha, Lohar Kheda, Nahra, Jhanda Kalan and Rodki villages listened to the girevances of the people. She also disbursed grants worth `70 lakh in these villages.

The MP was impressed when a girl student of Government Senior Secondary School, Karandi, gave her welcome speech in English, in which she urged the MP to introduce medical and non-medical streams in her school. The MP assured to address the issue of staff shortage at the school.
