Security drill carried out ahead of R-Day

Police have tightened security and started a comprehensive drill across the city on Wednesday, ahead of the Republic Day celebrations on Sunday.


Cops conducted checks at locations across the city, including the railway station, bus stand, markets and shopping malls.

SP city Narinder Pal Singh said that the drive aimed to check the presence and activities of anti-social element and it would continue till the Republic Day.

Deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal is scheduled to hoist the tri-colour at the celebrations in Bathinda.
