The Moga police on Monday claimed to have nabbed two culprits for murdering SAD leader and former Barnala MLA Malkit Singh Keetu.

Keetu was gunned down by assailants on October 29 outside his home in his native village Bilaspur in this district. His three nephews had been booked for the murder along with two others.

SSP Surjit Singh Grewal said Gurpreet Singh and Kulwant Singh were arrested after getting a tip-off on Monday morning. "Gurpreet is the nephew of the deceased and Kulwant belonged to the deceased's native village," said the SSP.

He said the investigation was on and a case had been registered against Gurpreet Singh, Harpreet Singh and Jaspreet Singh, nephews of the deceased, and Kulwant Singh, all of Bilaspur village, and Kala Singh of Deepgarh village in Barnala district.

"We will nab the other accused soon. The police have circulated a lookout circular at all airports in the country. We hope the special investigation cell will catch the other accused in the next two days," said the SSP.
