A minuscule number of respondents (less than 1%) favour the use of electronic eye — CCTV cameras - at public places. Do you agree? What immediate steps are needed to check sexual harassment in the city?

Advertisement Kaur100_compressed.jpgCCTVs are not the only solution. Deploying more policemen will work when they interact regularly with the public. For this, training is necessary. Most cops are simply disinterested in their job. This must change
Harpreet Kaur, Bathinda immediate step that could be taken is training even the policewomen. Even they are not sensitised enough to understand the problems of women in distress.
Jimmy, Bathinda Gill100_compressed.jpgCCTVs are installed only in some areas of the city, while they are required in all ideitfied areas. Streets lights are also required as an emergency measure as this case at least mitigate some of our fears and concerns
Manpreet Gill, Bathinda Saagu100_compressed.jpgA wrong practice that has come to stay is putting cops on VIP duty. Criminals are ready to strike in such times and the police must stop giving extra cops to VIP duty
Preeti Saagu, Bathinda khan100_compressed.jpgCCTVs should be installed near women colleges and schools where boys are seen roaming freely. Police must be empowered to act on its own, if it so warranted
Safia Khan, Bathinda are quick to complain, but I feel that an immediate step that could motivate the police and help us is a less tense police force. Police must be trained to be relaxed, if we are feel less stressed
Sonia, Bathinda Nagpal100_compressed.jpgWe have to walk beyond social norms.Girls must be practical and in a sense learn to live with respect. We see few complaints as people are just  too afraid to speak up. A change in atittude is needed.
Rupinder Nagpal, Bathinda Kaur100_compressed.jpgParents should make their daughters mentally strong. This victim mentality has to go. It will be hard, but slowly other victims and their parents will also speak up
Manpreet Kaur, Bathinda
