BBC Heart Care and amp, Pruthi Hospital, renowned in the field of cardiology is again in the process of acquiring first time in state. Aggreguide-A 100 is the latest machine which can check patients' Platelet Activation Index.

This is an important piece of information for the cardiologist to adjust the dose of antiplatelet medicine post operation specially.

During and after the angioplasty the patient has to comply with the dual antiplatelet drugs therapy for at least one year or in some cases for whole life.
These drugs are given to prevent the platelets from forming clots inside the already treated coronary arteries of the heart.

However in 30% of the patients antiplatelet drugs do not act.

There is no technology available to test this in India except the Aggredyne technology from USA.

Dr C S Pruthi, chairman of BBC Heart Care and amp told that he tested four patients on Saturday and the results help decide a doctor to prescribe the best suited antiplatelet therapy for particular patients and saving him from fears of getting blockage in the heart.
