Bishop Cotton School on Monday celebrated its 155th Founder's Day in the honour of its founder Bishop George Edward Lynch Cotton.

Revd. Bishop PK Samantaroy, who was chief guest on the occasion, was given a guard of honour by the young NCC cadets. The headmaster and the school Captain along with the chief guest paid respect to the founder's bust.

Special chapel service at the Holy Trinity Chapel of the institution was held to commemorate the vision and dedication of the founder, Bishop Cotton as well as to incorporate biblical aphorisms in commonplace lives.

Addressing the congregation, Bishop PK Samantaroy spoke about the free will of human beings and the need to love others in the dichotomy of good and evil.

In the evening, the Annual TM Whitmarsh Knight Lecture, an essential fixture for the past decade, was also held with the key goal of continuing intellectualism and critical thinking. The school since its inception on July 28, 1859, is one of the few remnants of the splendour and glory of the erstwhile British Raj.
