The absconding main accused in the May 16 Begowal firing have approached the media through a recorded CD, claiming that he was a Congress worker not an Akali, as claimed by former Bholath MLA Sukhpal Khaira.

A recorded CD containing 4.16-minute byte of Daljit Singh Nadala alias Don was sent to some media houses on Saturday evening, in which Nadala was seen answering to the queries of an unknown person, claiming that he was a Congress worker and Sukhpal Khaira was having a personal grudge against him as he (Nadala) wanted to contest Youth Congress elections from Bholath against Mehtab Khaira.

"Sukhpal is annoyed with me since then and had been trying to implicate me in the firing. He has been pressuring the firing victims to name me as accused. I have nothing to do with the incident as I was not there. Ajit Singh Nihang and his three sons were already booked by the police in five or six criminal cases and Khaira was hand-in-glove in all the cases," Nadala claimed in the video.

"I had been highlighting the anti-social activities of Khaira before the Congress high-command. The Congress lost the Bholath assembly seat because of his mideeds," Nadala claimed.
