Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) chief Avtar Singh Makkar has advised Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Lok Sabha member from Sangrur, Bhagwant Mann, to behave like a responsible MP and not like a comedian.

Makkar gave this piece of advise while taking exception to Mann’s having indulged in distortion of the line, ‘Raj Karega Khalsa, Aaki Rahey Na Koe’ (The pure ones shall prevail) .The distorted version by Mann has been highlighted on some social media sites.

Referring to the distortion, Makkar said, “Mann should behave like an elected representative of the people and not like a comedian. It is rather unfortunate for Punjab and for us that we have sent such a person to Parliament, who is not at all serious".

Claiming that Mann's distortion of the line had hurt Sikh sentiments, the SGPC chief demanded a public apology from the comedian-turned-politician.
