The `Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ yatra (march) would be flagged off by several Union and state ministers from various places in Haryana on January 17 and January 18.
An official spokesman said that Union minister Birender Singh would flag off the yatra from Jind on January 17 and from Kaithal on January 18 and Union minister of state Krishan Pal Gurjar from Palwal on January 17 and from Faridabad on January 18. Similarly, Union minister of state Rao Inderjit Singh would flag off the yatra from Karnal on January 17.
Haryana education minister Ram Bilas Sharma would flag off the march from Sirsa on January 17. State finance minister Capt Abhimanyu would send off the yatra from Rohtak on January 17 and Hisar on January 18, agriculture minister O P Dhankar from Jhajjar on January 17 and Bhiwani on January 18, health minister Anil Vij from Panchkula on January 17 and Ambala on January 18, public works minister Rao Narbir Singh from Mewat on January 17 and Gurgaon on January 18 and social justice and empowerment minister Kavita Jain from Sonepat on January 17 and Panipat on January 18.
Minister of state for cooperation Bikram Singh would flag off the yatra from Mahendergarh on January 17 and Rewari on January 18, minister of social justice and empowerment Krishan Kumar from Kurukshetra on January 17 and minister of state for transport Karan Dev Kamboj from Yamunanagar on January 17 and Fatehabad on January 18.
While Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to launch the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ abhiyan (campaign) in Panipat on January 22, a two-day workshop would be organised on January 20 and 21 to deliberate on how to improve the sex ratio and take the campaign to the national level.
