The Bihar government will provide Rs 1 lakh compensation to families of the state's residents killed in the building collapse.
The Bihar government will provide Rs 1 lakh compensation to families of the state's residents killed in the building collapse. Deputy resident commissioner-cum-joint labour commissioner of Bihar government Amar Chatterjee visited the site on Friday.
He made the announcement then. "Though there is no provision of compensating the injured, the government will try to compensate these people too," he said.
Chatterjee said the Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar was concerned about the well being of people from the state working in other states. He said the local administration was doing a good job with the rescue. He said the administration had told him that there could be 70-80 people in the building, when it collapsed.
