Union rural development minister Birender Singh on Sunday hit back at former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda for asking 20 questions from the Manohar Lal Khattar-led BJP government in Haryana and dared his erstwhile Congress colleague to direct the posers to him (Birender) instead.

“I came to know that Bhupinder Singh Hooda has prepared a list of 20 questions and asked the state government to answer him. I ask Hooda to ask me those questions and then I will reply,” he said at rally organised here to show the report card of one-year governance in the state on the occasion of Haryana day. State finance minister Captain Abhimanyu was also present.

Birender also targeted former chief minister Om Prakash Chautala, and said, “This time, the youth and people of Haryana saved the state from the curse of dynasty and nepotism by electing the BJP government in the state. During the past 25 years, just five families have been running the show in the state but they are not bothered about the welfare of state,” he said, taking an indirect dig at Bhajan Lal clan as well.

Speaking on the occasion, Abhimanyu said, “Does anyone remember how many youths from Sirsa, Fatehabad, Hisar and Jind districts got jobs during the Congress government? Under the Hooda and Chautala regimes, people had to buy jobs. But it is only BJP who bring educated youths of Haryana and giving them government jobs. Our CM works round-the-clock for everyone.”

Haryana BJP chief Subhash Barala said, “It is for the first time that the farmers got a very handsome compensation for crops damaged by hailstorm and whitefly attack. BJP is the government of ‘chhattis biradari’ (all communities).”
