BJP appoints Narendra Tomar as poll in-charge for Punjab, Saroj for Chandigarh

The party’s general secretary, Saroj Pandey, will be in-charge of Chandigarh’s local elections.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah on Thursday appointed Union minister Narendra Singh Tomar as the Punjab election in-charge for the party, and Captain Abhimanyu, a minister in the Haryana government, as co-incharge.
The party’s general secretary, Saroj Pandey, will be in-charge of Chandigarh’s local elections.

The assembly polls are scheduled in Punjab early next year. BJP is in power in the state as a junior partner of the Shiromani Akali Dal and their alliance is locked in a tough battle with the opposition Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
