The local unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organised a function to celebrate the appointment of the new governor of Chattisgarh, Balramji Dass Tandon.
Balramji thanked the gathering for organising the function and said every worker of the party should selflessly work for the betterment of the nation.
He said he had worked every day for the past seven decades without expecting anything in return from anybody. “I never aimed to get any position and maybe that is the reason my party and the government reciprocated me with their kindness.”
Earlier, local unit chief Sanjay Tandon welcomed Balramji Dass and said despite being his father, not just he but many around him always looked up to his great personality and selfless service.
On the occasion, BJP national secretary Aarti Mehra also applauded and appreciated Balramji Dass and wished him well for his tenure as the governor of Chattisgarh.
Local MP Kirron Kher also acknowledged the personality of Balramji Dass and how she had personally learned a lot from him. She also exhorted the party workers to follow his path of service to the nation.
The event was marked by presence of several luminaries and dignitaries of the party and office-bearers, previous heads of the parties, cells, districts, conveners of cells, sarpanches.
