The police have submitted a 'challan' (chargesheet) in a local court in the case relating to the clash outside the Bharatiya Janata Party's state headquarters last January, which includes the names of chairmen of two government bodies and a minister's son besides 29 Congress party and BJP leaders.

However, state Youth Congress chief and chief minister Virbhadra Singh's son Vikramaditya Singh and HP State Industrial Development Corp chairman Atul Sharma, who were named in the FIR filed in the case earlier, do not figure in the chargesheet.
The district court has posted the first hearing on the matter to July 15.

According to sources close to the police, Vikramaditya and Sharma were excluded as their investigations found both were not involved in the incident.

On January 29, Youth Congress workers led by Vikramaditya staged a protest outside the BJP office in Shimla that led to a violent clash in which several BJP and Congress party activists were reportedly injured.

Those named in the chargesheet include Dharampal Thakur, Mahender Stan, Rimpal Chaudhary, Akash Saini, Amit Kohli, Sukrant Bhatia, Sangeet Bharmauri, Vijay Kumar Sharma, Kuldeep Kumar, Vijender Pal, Bhupender Verma, Gaurav Kumar and Ranvir Rana, all of the Congress party, and state BJP secretary Trilok Jamwal, BJP youth wing chief Sunil Thakur, Karan Nanda, Randeep, Raju Thakur, Anil Kaundal, Susheel Chauhan, Hemant Kumar, Mohinder Sharma and Madan Sharma from the BJP.

After the state government ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident Shimla additional district magistrate DK Rattan filed a report that was rejected by the BJP, which had been demanding a judicial probe into the matter.
