Three people belonging to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress were injured on Friday morning after they clashed with one another on the issue of raising the road level to solve the problem of water logging in a street of the Dhaliwal Kadiya village in the district.

Vice president of BJP's backward class unit Harbhajan Singh Hero and his wife Rashpal Kaur sustained injuries and were admitted to the civil hospital while Congress sarpanch Parshotam Lal was also injured. Some others have also received minor injuries in the clash.

According to information, sarpanch Parshotam along with other panch members reached the street where BJP leader Hero was living to equal the road level which had become imbalanced due to construction outside the main gate of Hero's house on Friday morning.

One of the injured claimed that the decision of removing the construction outside the gate was taken by the panchayat mutually and everyone had paid equal amount as share to remove it.

When the panchayat members were about to start work, a heated argument ensued which turned into clash in which three persons received injuries and were later admitted to the civil hospital. The police are yet to register a case in the incident.
