BJP Gurgaon candidate suspects 'mischief' on counting day

punjab Updated: Apr 13, 2014 01:06 IST

Flaying the district administration for what he terms as "lackluster" performance on the polling day, the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate from Gurgaon Lok Sabha constituency Rao Inderjit Singh suspects "hanky panky" on the counting day - May 16.

Singh, in a written communication to the returning officer, Gurgaon constituency, on Saturday said though the Mewat seat was a sensitive zone, especially during the election time, the same was compounded by "lackluster performance of the district administration on the polling day"- April 10.

"The question that now arises in my mind is whether this lack of performance was motivated by ulterior considerations or was it an inherent disability in its genetic makeup," he wrote.

Urging the RO to ensure that there was no "hanky panky" in the counting of votes in the three Mewat assembly segments on May 16, Rao Inderjit also asked the RO to carefully appoint the counting staff on that day for the said segments of Gurgaon Lok Sabha constituency.
