A BJP leader was found murdered in Sujanour town on Saturday. Identified as Ramesh Chander of Attepur village, the deceased was the former president of BJP’s SC wing and was active in the local politics also.
His son Khem Raj and Ravi Kumar told police that Ramesh had gone for a morning walk early at 4 am as per his routine. He said that a passerby spotted him bleeding and informed the police who identified the BJP leader.
SHO Paramvir Saini accompanied by DSP Ranjit Singh said that the blood coming out of the head and ears indicated that the leader was attacked with a sharp-edged weapon.
“We have been considering all aspects and have registered a case. The report of the post mortem will throw light on the case,” the SHO said.
Meanwhile, BJP leaders expressed their grief over the leader’s death and demanded arrest of the culprits.
