Local BJP leader Harpal Mintu, who recently came out of prison after getting bail in a corruption case, has been sent behind the bars again.

The commissionerate police have booked him under section 110 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).
A senior official in the police department said Mintu again started activities which were unlawful in nature and was even involved in shielding criminals.
Mintu was arrested on Saturday night and sent to jail for 14 days. The official said Mintu was a habitual of crimes and needed to be stopped immediately.
Mintu was also arrested by the city police on May 31 for allegedly taking bribe to secure the release of a man arrested in a theft case.
The BJP had accused the police of implicating Mintu in the case. Mintu was booked by the Rama Mandi police under sections 8 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
